Riads, souks and the Atlas foothills an hour away. Go in spring or autumn, and build in two nights outside the city. MACAAL, the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden, shows artists from across the continent, and each February the 1-54 art fair takes over La Mamounia.
